the Capital District Council for Young MusiciansThe Capital District Council for Young Musicians, Inc. (CDCYM) is a 501(c) nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide a forum and opportunities for young musicians in our area to perform for development of their own musical talents and for the cultural enhancement of the community. The CDCYM is the sponsor of the Annual Chopin Piano Competition for piano students in the Greater Capital Region. This prestigious event sees 25-30 of the finest young pianists in the region compete. Judges are drawn from the faculties of upstate NY colleges and universities. Prizes are awarded in three categories: Novice, Apprentice, and Master. |
